Object is to provide visual conditions which will alleviate panic and permit safe evacuation of the building’s occupants should this be necessary in the event of failure of the electrical supply to the normal lighting. Does not specify types of buildings nor particular locations which should be provided with emergency evacuation lighting. Different requirements are specified for application in Australia and New Zealand, particularly with respect to the spacing of emergency luminaires.
